  • In my opinion, the voice of a yoga teacher is very important, for the transmission of the practice but mainly for the relaxation. I am capable of trying many classes and different teachers to find THE voice that touches me. That was the case with Selvin’s voice. When I discovered Selvin’s class, I was immediately impressed. The way she speaks and how she is respectful with everyone’s physical possibilities. She has a soothing, calming and compassionate presence. Selvin became very soon like a mentor for me, for my yoga practice, and also for my personal and spiritual evolution. I have been practicing Sivananda Yoga with Selvin regularly since 2014. I discovered a type of yoga which is deeply calming, that allowed me to open to myself. When she relocated to India, I attended various retreats Selvin organised; in Thailand and in India where we discovered Ayurvedic Science and its interactions with Yoga. These are small group retreats where we have the chance to meet other very nice people passionate with yoga and yogic philosophy. The retreats are very rich with the discovery of ancient sites, practice of Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga and meditation. Selvin has really encouraged me to take further step in my yogic path. Thanks to her I discovered a practice of Yoga beyond the physical asana and breathing techniques; the real philosophy and an expanded vision of existence that Yoga teaches us. So I took a Sivananda YTT of 200 hrs in Rudraprayag, in the Himalayas in India in 2019.
